Many freight carriers contact the customer before final delivery to arrange an appointment. Residential freight delivery may require an appointment, liftgate service, or additional freight charges. Some shipments may require a signature at delivery.
This item ships by LTL freight. Liftgate requirements and available delivery services vary by product and supplier. Select the applicable delivery option when offered, or contact us if you are unsure.
Minor or visible damage — inspect before signing, photograph any damage, and describe it specifically on the Bill of Lading (e.g. “Crate damaged on left side”). A generic notation such as “subject to inspection” may not adequately document a freight claim. Retain all packaging and contact us within 48 hours.
Severe damage — if the shipment appears severely damaged, structurally compromised, or clearly unusable, contact Forgeline Supply Co. before accepting it. Refusal may be appropriate depending on the circumstances.
Documenting damage — failure to document visible damage on the Bill of Lading may affect or limit the ability to pursue a freight claim.
