  • Floor width. 107.95 in (2,742 mm) overall, with 94.72 in (2,406 mm) between the inside faces of the columns.
  • Floor length. 198.43 in (5,040 mm) overall with the ramps fitted.
  • Ceiling. The posts stand 83.66 in (2,125 mm) and the runways rise to 70.87 in (1,800 mm). The height that decides your roof is 70.87 in plus the height of the vehicle you intend to park up there, not the height of the posts.
  • Drive-on height. Minimum runway height is 4.76 in (121 mm), which is low enough that most cars drive on over the ramps without scraping.
  • Concrete. At least 3.93 in (100 mm) thick, rated to at least 3,000 psi, level and unbroken under the anchor points. Not meeting that specification risks the lift and the person under it. If you do not know what your slab is, find out before you order.

Katool KT-4H850 4 Post 8,500lb Heavy Duty Car Lift

Most four-post lifts are delivered, assembled where they land and then anchored, and moving one afterwards is a job nobody volunteers for. The KT-4H850 ships with a caster kit as part of the package, along with two drip trays and a jack tray. That changes the character of the lift. You can build it, roll it to where you think it should go, park a car on it, discover that the door opens into the workbench, and roll it somewhere else - before anything is bolted down. In a home garage that also means the lift can be pushed aside seasonally rather than permanently occupying the bay.

The second published detail worth having is the cycle time: roughly 75 seconds up and 40 seconds down. It is a real, checkable figure rather than an adjective, and on a lift used for storage as much as for service it tells you how much of your day the lift itself will consume.

Will It Fit? Start with the doorway, not the bay

The part people miss on a four-post is not the installed footprint, it is getting it into the building. Katool publishes the shipping dimensions: 167 in long, 23 in wide, 30 in high. Measure that against your roller door, the corridor, and every corner between the delivery point and the bay. A crate 167 in long does not turn a tight corner, and finding that out with a freight driver waiting is an expensive way to learn it.

Once it is in, the installed figures are these, and every one is the buyer's to confirm:

  • Power. The motor is available for 110V/60Hz/1PH or 220V/60Hz/1PH, so this lift can go into a garage that has no 220V circuit. Confirm which configuration you are ordering.

8,500 lb, and where the locks are

Rated capacity is 8,500 lbs (3,850 kg), which covers sedans, SUVs and light trucks. Underneath that number sit four mechanical locking devices, one per column, each with a primary and a secondary lock, plus a slack-cable device that engages if a lift cable ever loses tension. A single-point manual release unlocks all four columns from one side rather than making an operator circle a raised vehicle. This is the reason a four-post is the lift people leave a car standing on for a fortnight: the load is on steel, in four places, with a backup behind each one.

The runways are non-skid diamond plate. On a lift you drive onto, that surface is doing two jobs - it is what a tire meets at the top of a wet ramp, and it is what a technician stands on in oily boots.

Choose which side the power unit lives on

The power-side column can be fitted at either side, and at the front or the rear. Decide it during installation and it costs nothing; decide it afterwards and it is a day's work. It determines where the electrical supply has to terminate, which side the hoses run down, and whether the lift can sit against a wall in your layout.

Perfect For

  • Home garages storing a second car underneath - the classic four-post job, and the caster kit makes it reversible.
  • Service shops doing brake, exhaust, tyre and undercarriage work where drive-on beats positioning arms.
  • Collectors and restorers, where a vehicle sits for months on mechanical locks rather than on stands.
  • Garages without a 220V circuit, since the 110V motor configuration removes the electrical upgrade from the project.

What is included

  • Four columns and two non-skid diamond-plate runways
  • Four mechanical locking devices, each with primary and secondary locks
  • Slack-cable secondary safety device and single-point manual release
  • Caster kit for repositioning before anchoring
  • Drip trays and a jack tray

Anchors, electrical work and any slab preparation are not in the crate.

Certification, stated plainly

Katool states that the KT-4H850 is CE approved and certified, tested to 115 percent of its dynamic load and 150 percent of its static load. Understand what that document is. CE is a European conformity marking resting on the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity - it is not a North American third-party lift safety listing and it is not a substitute for one. For a home garage and for most independent shops the distinction never comes up. It does come up for certain commercial insurance policies, for fleet and municipal operations, and for jurisdictions whose code names a specific listing. Find out what your insurer or your inspector requires before the lift is on your floor, not after.

Shipping and delivery

Freight truck, lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout against your own address rather than estimated in advance. Remember the 167 in crate length when you plan the delivery: unloading is the receiver's responsibility, so you need a forklift with real reach, a dock, or a collection booked at the carrier's local terminal - the terminal route is often the easiest because the handling equipment is already there. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, added at checkout when you select it.

Inspect before signing. Walk the length of the crates looking for bent runway ends, crush damage, missing banding, damaged ramps and oil, and record anything you see on the bill of lading with the driver standing there, photographing as you go. Signing clean is the carrier's evidence that the lift arrived undamaged, and that is a hard position to argue against later.

Warranty

Katool publishes a written warranty document for this lift and we can send you the current copy before you order if the terms matter to your decision. One rule applies to every hydraulic lift whoever made it: if something fails, do not dismantle the power unit, a cylinder, a cable assembly or a lock before a claim is open. A component that has been taken apart is normally treated as a modified component, and cover that would have been honoured is lost. Photograph the fault, note the serial number and call us first.

Installation

Installing the KT-4H850 is straightforward, but proper concrete requirements are critical for safety. Ensure the concrete thickness is at least 3.93 inches (100 mm) with a 3,000 PSI rating. Failure to meet these specifications could lead to serious injury or equipment failure.
